Ahhh…… 1st of April.
I had the idea to make mine too here. But finally thought that anyways nobody’s reading this blog, so didn’t find the will to do it.
Some were interesting though :
- GnomeMeeting‘s one
SIP Support discontinued
Damien Sandras 2005-04-01Many people have stated that they wanted support for the Skype protocol in GnomeMeeting. It is actually true that most people want something that works, not something that necessarily respects standards and eases interoperability.
I have reverse-engineered the Skype protocol during my holiday break and I will add support for it into GnomeMeeting. As a consequence, the client will become closed-source, but it will stay free (as free beer). Support for SIP and H.323 will be discontinued. Those protocols belong to the past!
GnomeMeeting 2.00 (Skype-based) will of course be 100% compatible with the original Skype, without any restriction and will even bring additional functionality.
- The planet.gnome.org which switched their redirection to PlanetKDE.
- The linuxfr.org‘s one [fr] announcing that Templeet got the J2EE’s certification…
- … followed by another one [fr] still on Linuxfr about a new european directive.
… and lots of others.
